第三回 ハチドリ会 総会
コロナウィルス感染症の影響がまだ消えない中、対面を避けオンラインにて総会を開催しました。会員が仕事でオンラインを使い慣れてるため、ご協力頂きスムーズに進行出来ました。
不自由な生活が続いていても、会員の方々の元気な姿が見てとれオンライン上ですが、楽しい一時になりました。

The 3rd General Meeting
We held online the third General Meeting to avoid face-to-face interactions. Since at least one participant was familiar with the online system we used, we were able to proceed smoothly with her assistance.
Although we still live under the threat of the virus, we could see the energetic faces of the members online, which made us feel invigorated!

第二回 ハチドリ会 総会
コロナウィルス感染症パンデミックの影響により時期が遅れましたが、衛生管理を徹底することにより再び日本国大使公邸にて開催することが出来ました。
この日は公邸料理長が手打ちうどんの作り方を披露して下さりました。名誉会長の平山大使夫人の素敵な歓待に改めて驚かされました。

The 2nd General Meeting
The second General Meeting was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence through hygienic management.
On this day, the head chef of the official residence showed us how to make the hand-made udon. We were once again surprised by the wonderful hospitality of Mrs. Hirayama, the Honorary President.

雛祭り(More Vino)
日本食レストランMore Vinoとの共催で、お店からは雛祭り弁当を特別に用意して頂き、ハチドリ会からはお馴染みの浴衣の着付けと和菓子、その他に会員手作りの折り紙で作った箸入れ等を販売しました。
日本国大使館より雛人形をお借りし装飾のメインとし、フェスティバルの雰囲気が出せました。更に大使館からはお餅つきのデモンストレーションをしていただき、大使夫妻始め館員の皆様も応援に来てくださいました。また、会員の一人が雛祭りにちなんだ音楽をスティールパンで披露したりと盛りだくさんのイベントで大成功に終わることが出来ました。

Hinamatsuri (Dolls Festival)
Hinamatsuri is celebrated annually in Japan on March 3rd. More Vino More Sushi, a Japanese restaurant in Port of Spain, agreed to be the joint-organizer of the event and offered the restaurant for its venue. They had special Hinamatsuri bento boxes on sale.
The Hummingbird Association members dressed guests in a yukata (summer kimono) so that they could be photographed in it. Japanese sweets, and origami items including chopsticks holders folded by the members, were also on sale.
We asked the Embassy of Japan for the rental of the entire set of hina dolls. They were dressed in traditional court fashion of the ancient period, including the Emperor, Empress, and musicians. This was our Centre-piece of the display which contributed to the festive atmosphere of the event.
The Embassy of Japan organized a demonstration of the rice-cake pounding (mochi-tsuki) . It showed how hot steamed rice is pounded into rice cakes (mochi) . One of our members played the music of Hinamatsuri with the steel pan, which was well-received by everyone.

日本人コミュニティ クリスマス会
トリニダード在住の日本人とその家族、及び縁のある方々の為に開催されたハチドリ会最大のイベント、クリスマス会！
美味しい食事を(一部日本食レストランSAMURAIより提供頂く)食べたり飲んだりする中、クイズやゲーム、子供達による余興等が盛りだくさん行われました。
トリニダードのクリスマス時期には欠かせないParang Musicのバンドを会員がサプライズで招待していたりとイベントは更に盛り上がりました。

Japanese Christmas Party
The Christmas party is the greatest annual event for our members and their families. The Samurai Japanese Restaurant assisted the event in part with the catering of delicious food and drinks. There were fun quizzes and games, and the children presented us with wonderful entertainment!

第一回 ランチ会
時間のある会員で気軽に集まり、食事は各自で好きなものを持ちよりました。収益や活動はこの時ばかりは考えず、ただただお喋りを楽しみました。

An Informal Lunch
We gathered for an informal lunch to which each member brought some favorite dish(es). We simply enjoyed each other’s company without regard to the club’s future activities or possible revenues they could make!

PANDAMONIUM - SUPER HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL (グランド•バザール)
アジア文化交流イベントにハチドリ会として出展しました。
浴衣の着付けをメインに、ボランティアで会員が作ったクッキーや抹茶味のカップケーキ等を販売しました。
会の発足後、初めてのイベント参加でしたが、地元の沢山の方々に興味をお持ち頂き日本文化の普及に一躍出来ました。
特に浴衣の試着は大人気で写真撮影等で喜んで頂け、かつ着付けを通して地元の方々との交流に会員皆が満足した一日を過ごしました。

Pandamonium : Super Halloween Festival (at Grand Bazaar Mall, Valsayn)
Hachidorikai was invited to participate in the Asian International Cultural Event. Dressing the guests in a yukata (summer kimono) by our members was the main attraction of the day. The guests took pictures in their yukata and we were able to interact with them in the process. We also sold tasty cookies and cupcakes with matcha (green tea) flavor which were baked by our members and volunteers.
It was the first cultural event in which the Hachidorikai members took part.
The event turned out to be one of our most rewarding experiences, as a venue to inform aspects of the Japanese culture to the local residents

第一回 ハチドリ会 総会
記念すべき第一回ハチドリ会総会は、名誉会長を快く引き受けて下さった平山大使夫人のお取り計らいにより日本国大使公邸にて開催されました。
会議後は、公邸料理長がご用意下さったブランチや大使夫人手作りのスィーツを頂きながら談笑し楽しい一時を過ごしました。
2019 June 18 (Tuesday)
The First General Meeting
The memorable First general meeting of the Hummingbird Association was held at the Residence of Ambassador Hirayama and Mrs. Sachiko Hirayama through the kind and generous arrangement of Mrs. Sachiko Hirayama. She has also agreed to take on the role of the Honorary President of the Association.
After the meeting, we enjoyed chatting among ourselves while having some sweets organized by the head chef of the official residence.
上記のハチドリ会の活動において、Samurai、More Vino、そして在トリニダード・トバゴ日本大使館のご協力に心より感謝申し上げます。
In closing, Hachidorikai wishes to express much appreciation to the Samurai Restaurants, and More Vino for their support and friendly assistance.
